Procedure & Documents Required
General Requirements for Certificates
To request any of the following certificates, ensure you meet the basic requirements:
- Valid Passport or National ID (for identity verification)
- Completed Application Form for the specific certificate type
- Supporting Documents as per the certificate type (e.g., marriage certificate, birth certificate)
- Payment of Fees (if applicable)
General Requirements for Certificates
1. Birth Certificate Documents Required:
- Birth Certificate (if available)
- Parent’s Identification (Passport or National ID)
- Proof of Residency (if applicable)
Application Process:
- Complete the Birth Certificate application form.
- Submit the form with supporting documents in person, by mail, or online.
- Pay the applicable fee (if any).
- The embassy processes your application, and the certificate will be issued after processing.
2. Marriage Certificate Documents Required:
- Marriage Certificate (original or copy)
- Proof of Identification (Passports or National IDs of both parties)
- Proof of Residency (if applicable)
Application Process:
- Fill out the Marriage Certificate application form.
- Submit the form and supporting documents.
- Complete payment (if required).
- Wait for processing, then collect the certificate.
3. Death Certificate Documents Required:
- Death Certificate from local authorities
- Deceased’s Identification (Passport or National ID)
- Proof of Relationship (if you’re a family member)
Application Process:
- Complete the Death Certificate application form.

4. Adoption Certificate Documents Required:
- Adoption Decree (Court order)

5. Devorce Certificate Documents Required:
- Divorce Decree (official court document)
- Marriage Certificate (original or copy)
- Proof of Identity for both parties
Application Process:
- Complete the Divorce Decree application form.
- Submit supporting documents.
- Pay any required fees.
- Certificate will be issued once processed.
6. Certificate of Name Change Documents Required:
- Name Change Document (court order or affidavit)
- Proof of Identity (Passport or National ID)
Application Process:
- Complete the Name Change Certificate application.
- Submit the required documents.
- Pay applicable fees.
- The certificate will be processed for collection.
7. Power of Attorney
- A legalized application addressed to Madam the Chargé d’Affaires a.i., including the full address and telephone contact details of the applicant(s)
- The applicant must appear in person at the High Commission with one copy of the power of attorney to be legalized
- A copy of the applicant’s passport and a copy of an identity document (National ID card or passport) of the person for whom the power of attorney is issued
Application Process:
- Complete the Power of Attorney Certificate application.
- Submit the required documents.
- Pay applicable fees.
- The certificate will be processed for collection.
8. Document Legalization
- A legalized application addressed to Madam the Chargé d’Affaires a.i., including the full address and telephone contact details of the applicant
- Presentation of the document(s) to be legalized, which must have been previously legalized in Cameroon by the competent administrative authority and the Ministry of External Relations (MINREX)
Application Process:
- Complete the Legalization Certificate application.
- Submit the required documents.
- Pay applicable fees.
- The certificate will be processed for collection.
